Original music
When I was the rhythm guitar player for Not My Problem, a successful bar band based in Connecticut, I was struck by the fact that all of the songs our band covered were written by 25-year-olds about the topics 25-year-olds think about.
It would interesting —certainly different, I thought— if we wrote songs about what life is really like at our age. In our forties, fifties, and sixties, we struggle with very different life situations and challenges than those facing the very young people who write most popular music… disappointment, divorce, financial struggles, problem children, unfulfilled dreams, the death of those close to us.
But it wasn’t all grim. I enjoyed writing about the wickedly funny zaniness when suddenly-single-sixties must learn how to date all over again, ever hoping to find once in a lifetime, again.
Now, some 30 songs later, I have a full portfolio of work for the musical ‘Once in a Lifetime, Again’, and a second album of original songs that I call ‘Wistful Thinking’.
In these links, you will find my “composer demos” of these songs… usually, just me on my Taylor 12 String or my Epihone Casino.

The professionals have done a wonderful job on the songs but I wanted my website to include my own versions.
